KAYLEA

Kaylea began her tattooing journey in 2010 as an apprentice and began tattooing professionally a couple years after. A naturally curious Gemini human, she has various artistic interests and has studied everything from writing and literature to music and music history, art and art history, and dance for most of her life. In traditional art, she studied and enjoyed human figure drawing and portraiture, working primarily in dry mediums like charcoal, graphite, conte crayons, and pastels. However, her tattoo style is more encompassing of illustrative art, including blackwork and linework pieces, color Art Nouveau, and traditional/nontraditional styles. She is partial to organic and asymmetrical forms (super mathematical geometric art and photorealism make this air sign feel trapped—help!), and she also loves doing sentimental pieces such as handwriting from a loved one (those are actually her favorite tattoos to do for people!). She also enjoys weird, and quirky or humorous tattoos, so send those ideas over! She may be a shy, introverted literature nerd, but she is a huge fan of talking and will always try her best to make first-timers feel comfortable and at ease. When she’s not working or making drawings for people, she’s probably in a ballet class or deadlifting because she detests sitting still for long.
