5. What is the process for making an appointment?

Miss Heidi’s personal and business beliefs subscribe to the idea of freedom. As such, she offers all of the artists here the luxury of being independent contractors, so they are responsible for their own scheduling. Please feel free to E-mail our artists at heidi@missheidistattoo.com That said, our staff is more than willing to accommodate you, and assist you with setting up appointments. · It’s first-come, first-serve, so if you don’t have time to wait we suggest that you make an appointment. · You do not necessarily need an appointment for simple tattoo designs but we do recommend calling first to ensure there is an artist available, as we are a busy, primarily custom, by appointment-only studio. · To make an appointment with one of our artists you must first decide with whom you’d like to work (check out our online portfolios or stop by to review in-house portfolios and meet our staff of highly-qualified and ridiculously-kind artists.) Ideally, you have done your homework and will provide reference to serve as a starting point for your design vision, but each of our artists is eager to assist you in designing your tattoo. Next, we require a non-refundable deposit ($100), which can be paid in person or via the phone, and you must complete the paperwork required by the health department and our studio. At that point we schedule an appointment for you. · The non-refundable deposit covers the drawing, holds your appointment and is deducted (from the final session) from the total price of the tattoo. · We typically have a very fast turnaround time for the initial drawing to be completed, which you review before the day of your appointment. Obviously, tattoos are permanent so we want you to be completely in love with your design before it is forever on your body.

6. What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Your deposit will be forfeited in a no-call, no-show situation, and will no longer be applied toward the tattoo so please call us at least 48 hours before your appointment time and we will happily reschedule you. If you would like an earlier appointment we will place you on the Call List and contact you in the event that an opening becomes available.

7. How do I take care of my tattoo?

Miss Heidi’s Tattoo does not believe in a blanket approach to healing because each person’s skin and immune system is different. So, we will discuss aftercare on an individual basis. We do offer Organic Soaps and Lotions for purchase at the shop for your tattoo healing process. Please see the Aftercare page for more information.

8A. Is there anybody you will not tattoo?

Yes. Miss Heidi’s Tattoo is staffed with professional, friendly and open-minded individuals, so we treat each client equally as well, regardless of sex, race, religion, sexual orientation or hat size. However, we will not work with anybody who is drunk or otherwise under the influence, and while we respect every person’s right to their opinion, we simply will not welcome anybody into our studio who is in any way being hateful toward our staff or other clients. We do have the right to refuse service to anybody.

8B.

Each of our artists – while they all are well-versed in all styles – have areas of expertise. We suggest you simply call the studio to discuss initial design ideas so we can direct you as to which artist would be the best fit.

Miss Heidi focuses on portraits, photo-realism, epic (both color & black/gray) and fine-line pieces. Primarily due to the demand for her specific style, Miss Heidi does not do the following design types/body parts: Tribal, lettering, small symbols, drug-related and/or hateful imagery, face, hands, feet, genitalia/buttocks. She also does not tattoo minors. That said, Nate and Michael  do any/all design types at this point, so the bottom line is: If you want it tattooed, we’ll tattoo it (within reason, of course).

9.Do you tattoo or pierce minors?

We currently tattoo and pierce minors aged 16 and older, with proper notarized consent, valid photo IDs for both the minor and legal guardian, and the legal guardian must be present for the entire tattoo or piercing. You must obtain a legal consent form from us; call or email for more details, and to obtain the proper documentation form. Not all piercings are available to all minors, please call or e-mail for further questions on piercings. We will not pierce infants under 3 years old. Also, Heidi does not tattoo minors, but our other artists will be happy to assist you!

 10. Are tattoos safe?

Miss Heidi’s Tattoo is obsessive about cleanliness, and exceed many of the Orange County Health Department’s requirements. We use only the best, regularly-certified sterilization and cleansing equipment, and all tubes and needles are opened in front of each client so you know what is being used on you is 100% sterile. We encourage you to ask questions regarding our sterilization process, and our up-to-date records are always available for your review.
